Tangmere Growers is a friendly, multicultural, and community-focused allotment group rooted in the heart of Tangmere, West Sussex. Since 1972, when the land was gifted by the Ministry of Defence for agricultural use, the allotments have provided local people with the opportunity to grow fresh produce, share knowledge, and build lasting friendships.

We welcome growers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels, creating an environment where everyone feels supported and encouraged. Our members work together to promote sustainable growing methods, avoiding the use of harmful chemicals and caring for the natural environment around us.

Beyond gardening, we actively engage with the wider community through educational visits, biodiversity projects, and social prescribing initiatives that support wellbeing, mental health, and social connection. Whether teaching local Scout groups about planting and wildlife or offering a peaceful space for people seeking support, Tangmere Growers is committed to making a positive difference within our community.
